11. Not a Recipe for Damson Pie

Let’s use here each sweet instance that’s acceptable
singing within this the praise of famous poets
their glory glassy & greyly luscious in this rain
its bold play

In this case we find joy in their balancings
that rest in the midst of where we are again
the sum of what we have eaten and thought
holds us together

Ah, if only our wits were that real that
build up this whole world around us & repeat
as if unafraid of what they stand upon and where
it is empty

OK then, let’s be good at hope and stance
sweet, yes, as that slice of damson pie I haven’t made yet
except with words here, now, juicy for you, taste
mmmm
